London Bridge Tag

This week the challenge at the Paperartsy Blog is to use Paperartsy stamps, and Fresco Paints together with metal. A great opportunity to try out the translucent paints that I ordered and received this week.

I coloured a tag with London Bus, then coated it with Crackle Glaze. Once that was dry, I put a thick layer of Baltic Blue on it. It immediately started to crackle, and some large cracks appeared. Wonderful! I love the bright red colour of the cracks.

In the bottom left corner, I played with Zesty Zing and Beach Hut. It created a nice opaque green colour, not exactly what I intended, but not too bad for a first time... The man is from the Hot Pick 1110 sheet. I first applied some Snowflake so that his face would not be too green...

The London Bridge is a stamp from Crafty Individuals, that I stamped with Stazon on metal. I then coloured the picture with Chocolate Pudding, Beach Hut, and South Pacific. I created some depth by puffing the bridge from the back.

Take a Word - Wings

This week's theme at Take a Word is WINGS. Searching my stash for anything with wings, I found a piece of BasicGrey paper with a bird. I used it as the background. The globe in the background is a stamp from Stampers Anonymous.

The lady is a chess piece stamp from Lost Coast Designs with additional dragon wings. The word "Wings" is made from metal and coloured with Paperartsy Fresco Finish paints. These paints gave a matte finish, so I sanded it a little to let the metal shine through.

Three Muses - Birds

This week's theme at the Three Muses is BIRDS OF a FEATHER. Inspired by an example in the August issue of Craft Stamper magazine, I made these three tags. The birds on the left and right tags are made from die cuts, the bird cage is a PaperArtsy stamp on metal, the woman's face is also from PaperArtsy.

Take a Word - Masculine

This week's theme at Take a Word is MASCULINE. All the cards I made this year have a mssculine element, so this challenge was not too difficult for me. This canvas is my entry. I did not manage to take a picture of the canvas that shows all details, so I added two detail, somewhat over-exposed, pictures of the metal pieces.

Het thema van deze week bij Take a Word is MASCULINE. Op alle kaarten die ik dit jaar gemaakt heb, staat minimaal een (1) man. Deze challenge was daarom niet al te moeilijk voor mij. Deze canvas is mijn bijdrage. Het lukte me niet om een foto te maken waarop alle details goed te zien zijn, daarom heb ik twee (overbelichte) detail foto's bijgevoegd.

Some experiments

Last June, Ineke and I attended the Artsycrafts weekend. We had lots of fun, and learned quite a few new techniques. It also inspired me to create some art pieces again.
For this tag I used Fresco Finish acrylic paints and two Hot Pick stamps. The ladies were printed on the tag.

The metal clock on this card was inspired by Linda Brown´s blog. I used Fresco Finish acrylic paints for the background and some Paperartsy stamps.

For this flower I used brown metal and Stream and Sunset Orange alcohol inks. The alcohol inks seem to hold only to the embossed parts.

Three Muses - Stars

This week's theme at The Three Muses is Stars. The star on my ATC is made of metal and coloured with Viva Metal Effect paints. Thanks for looking.

Lente swap

Vandaag weer een grote uitbreiding van mijn ATC map ontvangen. Ik doe mee met ATC swaps van het forum van Joan Gevaert en van de Creative Cahos stempelgroep. Beide hadden in maart als thema Voorjaar. Hieronder de ATCs die ik ontvangen heb.

Mijn ATC heeft een metalen bloem die gekleurd is met alcohol inkten.

Playing with Viva Decor

Recently, Linda Brown of LBCrafts showed some great samples of using metal art and Viva Decor metal paints. These are the first pieces that I made myself.

A short description of the technique I used for these pieces. The metal piece in the middle was embossed using the Cuttlebug, and glued on a piece of chipboard. Then I applied Viva Decor Ferro paint to the chipboard around the metal. While the paint was still wet, I stamped garden and a flower (both Paperartsy) into the Ferro paint. I coloured the top half with Denim Dabber ink, and the rest with Viva Decor metal paints. This makes the stamped images pop out. The flower and jigsaw piece are stamped with Stazon on metal. The ATC I submitted for the Elements theme of Think Monday - Think ATC.

Ik heb onlangs een demo gezien door Linda Brown van LBCrafts. Zij combineert metal art met de metaalverf van Viva Decor. Deze arch en atc zijn mijn eerste probeersels.

Three Muses - Postage stamps

The challenge for this week at The Three Muses is Postage Stamps. The postage stamps on this tag are from Crafty Individuals. I coloured them with red, blue and green Adirondack inks. The background is coloured with cranberry and watermelon and silver Dabbers. I made this tag during a crafting day with some friends. They were working on a metal art project. Therefore, I decided to add some metal art in the lower right corner of this tag.

Het thema van deze week bij The Three Muses is Postage stamps. De postzegels op deze tag zijn stempels van Crafty Individuals die ik ingekleurd heb met rode, blauwe en groene Adirondack inkt. De achtergrond heb ik gekleurd met dabbers (cranberry, watermelon en zilver). Ik heb deze tag gemaakt tijdens een hobby dag met enkele vrienden. Zij waren bezig met een metal art project. Daarom vond ik het leuk om rechtsonder op de tag ook een stukje metaal te verwerken.

Three Muses - Mail

The challenge for this week at The Three Muses is Mail. For this tag I combined techniques that Tim Holtz has shown in this year's Tags of Christmas. The bottom is made from metal coloured with alcohol inks, using tag 10 as an example. Instead of the alcohol pens I used a small brush to apply the colour. The background is a collage of mail stamps coloured with distress inks, as inspired by tag 4. The embellishment is made from a memory frame, a swivel clasp and a corner, all from Tim Holtz. On the memory glass and on the roof I used crystal stickles to create a frosted effect. Here again, tag 4 was my source of inspiration.

Het thema voor deze week bij The Three Muses is Mail. Voor deze tag heb ik technieken gebruikt die Tim Holtz getoond heeft in de 12 Tags of Christmas van dit jaar. De onderkant is gemaakt van metaal en gekleurd met alcohol inkten. Hierbij diende tag 10 als voorbeeld. De alcohol pennen heb ik niet, maar met een penseel gaat het ook. De achtergrond is een collage van kaarten en postzegel atempels, gestempeld met Archival Black en daarna gekleurd met distress inkten, zoals op tag 4. Het embellishment heb ik gemaakt met een memory frame, een swivel clasp en een corner, allemaal van Tim Holtz. Op het memory glass en op het dak heb ik met crystal stickles een frosted effect egmaakt. Voor deze embellishment was tag 4 opnieuw mijn bron van inspiratie.

Three Muses - Wings

This week's theme at The Three Muses is Wings on Things. I used a butterfly stamp from Blonde Moments which is stamped on canvas, sticked on metal and colored with pearls. The background is colored with ColorBox cat eye inks. The butterfly stamp on the background is from PaperArtsy. The word Wings is from Blonde Moments. I finalised the ATC with a flower from Prima.

Het thema van deze week bij The Three Muses is Wings on Things. Ik heb een vlinderstempel van Blonde Moments gebruikt. Deze heb ik gestempeld op canvas, op metaalfolie geplakt en daarna ingekleurd met pearl poeders. De achtergrond is gekleurd met cat eye inkt (ColorBox). De vlinderstempel op de achtergrond is van PaperArtsy, het woord Wings is van Blonde Moments. De bloem is van Prima.

Nature ATC

Deze ATC heb ik gemaakt voor een swap. Het onderwerp van de swap was Natuur. Ik heb met alcohol inkt (Meadow en Stonewashed) een achtergrond gemaakt. De tekst is gestempeld met Stazon. De libelle is gemaakt van metaal. Gestempeld met stazon op de achterkant, daarna embossed en met zwarte dabber bewerkt. Beide stempels zijn van PaperArtsy (mini SM09).

I made this ATC for a swap. The subject of the swap was Nature. I made the background with alcohol inks (Meadow and Stonewashed). The text is stamped with Stazon. The dragonfly is made of metal. I stamped it with stazon on the back, embossed it and wiped it with black Dabber. Both stamps are by PaperArtsy (mini SM09).
